Therapist

After qualifying as a Therapist, Debbie started her career with the National Health Service, working as a Practice Counsellor within a local surgery.
Debbie subsequently began running her own Private Practice and this has been operating for 15 years.
Her practice offers a confidential and caring service where referrals are made from the UK's leading Health Providers, BUPA/Norwich Union/ Standard Life along with GP's, Consultants, and Solicitors, together with many referrals from past and current client recommendations.
Relationship and couple work are the main core of the practice and she works as part of the Family Law Movement, Resolution, of which she is an affiliate member to help not only couples but more importantly the children and the whole family unit. The aim of much of the work is to help families move through Divorce or Separation with minimum emotional damage and disruption to children within the family unit.
Debbie also has specialist training within Alcohol Education and Addiction and has worked for many years with Drink Driving Education, an organisation that works alongside the courts. The training encourages people who have been convicted of a drink driving offence to attend a course, which educates the person in how to stay alcohol free when driving. The course educates the driver to calculate the measures of alcohol consumed and from this work out when they will be alcohol free. With alcohol addiction Debbie works with the underlying issues rather than concentrating on the presenting problem and through discovery and exploration, extremely successful results can be obtained.
